Wisconsin football lands Augustana transfer OL Stylz Blackmon
Wisconsin has added a transfer portal commitment from former Augustana offensive lineman Stylz Blackmon.
The University of Wisconsin football program dipped into the Division II ranks to continue rebuilding its offensive line through the transfer portal.
Former Augustana offensive lineman Stylz Blackmon committed to the Badgers, giving Wisconsin another interior option as the staff continues to stack depth up front under new offensive line coach Eric Mateos.
“Committed through and through🔴⚪️,” Blackmon wrote.
Blackmon is listed at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, and joins the program after two productive seasons with the Augustana Vikings. A native of Grain Valley (Mo.) Blackmon played his high school football at Grain Valley High School before becoming a regular contributor at the Division II level.
As a true freshman in 2024, Blackmon appeared in 12 games and made 10 starts for Augustana. He followed that up in 2025 by playing in 11 games, earning First Team All-NSIC honors after starting the first three contests at center before sliding over to left guard for the final eight games. Across two seasons, Blackmon appeared in 23 career games for the Vikings.
At Augustana, Blackmon worked primarily at guard but also logged plenty of snaps at center, giving him some positional flexibility that fits what Wisconsin is looking for as it rebuilds depth on the interior. He’s not being brought in as a finished product, but rather as a player with useful size, versatility, experience, and enough movement ability to compete inside.
Blackmon will have two years of collegiate eligibility remaining and could also preserve a redshirt season if needed, as he continues to develop.
This addition officially makes Blackmon the fifth offensive lineman that Wisconsin’s staff has added from the transfer portal this offseason. He joins a transfer class that includes Austin Kawecki (Oklahoma State), Lucas Simmons (Florida State), Blake Cherry (Arkansas), and PJ Wilkins (Ole Miss). It’s a clear signal of how badly the staff wants to fix the line.
There’s also a solid foundation returning.
Wisconsin brings back Emerson Mandell and Collin Cubberly, both of whom started games in 2025, while Kevin Heywood — last season’s projected starting left tackle — returns from an ACL injury. The Badgers also return a group of talented linemen who will be in the mix for two-deep roles, including Barrett Nelson, who has battled injuries, along with Ryan Cory, Nolan Davenport, and Michael Roeske, all of whom enter the offseason with a clean slate under coach Mateos and Casey Rabach.
The departure of Joe Brunner, who entered the portal and ultimately committed to Indiana, creates additional competition inside, and Blackmon adds another experienced body to a room that needed options.
This pickup is about numbers, competition, and development.
Wisconsin is casting a wide net on the offensive line, trusting that talent and traits can come from anywhere if the fit is right. While the competition level was lower, Blackmon’s tape is intriguing. He gives the Badgers another interior lineman with live reps, versatility, and time to grow, which is the type of low-risk acquisition that makes a lot of sense for the room.
