With Joe Brunner, I’d guess it’s a mix of things. He’s put his time in, probably had a chance to command a solid payday at Indiana, and wants to win. He hasn’t exactly experienced a ton of that here, and sometimes those situations just run their course.
As for Renfro, this staff is clearly in full prove-it mode. Even if he wanted back, the addition of Austin Kawecki from Oklahoma State tells you they were prioritizing someone durable and experienced they can lean on to help stabilize that offensive line.
