Greg Gard has shown us plenty of times over the years that he’s capable of taking a difficult situation and ironing things out. It hasn’t always been seamless, and it hasn’t been unblemished, but this feels like a coach who understands the talent is there. The challenge is getting it to function as one unit, and doing it quickly.
This team needs 40 minutes of connected, selfless basketball. When they get back to having fun instead of things being so tense, that’s when we’ll start to see what they’re actually capable of.
