Wisconsin Suspends Starting LB Jordan Turner Indefinitely
Following a run-in with the police, the University of Wisconsin football program has suspended inside linebacker Jordan Turner "indefinitely."
Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program had to suspend starting inside linebacker Jordan Turner, the Badgers second-leading tackler last season, due to a violation of the athletic department's discipline policy.
The 6-foot-1, 236-pound linebacker registered 65 tackles, 23 pressures, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception -- while also earning defensive MVP honors at the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
"Earlier this week, I was cited with an OWI first offense along with additional traffic violations," Turner said in a social media post.
"My parents raised me to do the right things in life, and unfortunately, this time, I didn't. I made the wrong decision.
"I'm very disappointed and embarrassed, and I want to personally apologize to my parents, my teammates, my coaches, the fans, and the University of Wisconsin. I take this matter very seriously, and I vow to learn from this and be a better man going forward."
