Madison, Wis. -- After Wisconsin basketball held their annual advanced camp this summer, Greg Gard and his coaching staff pulled the trigger and offered 2025 in-state combo-guard Zach Kinziger. Shortly after, the Badgers secured a commitment from one of their top in-state talents.
Kinziger, a three-star shooting guard out of De Pere (WI.), announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin on social media over scholarship offers from Cal Poly, Illinois State, Toledo, and UW-Green Bay.
"Wisconsin has been my dream school ever since I was a little kid," Kinziger said.
"Playing at the highest level in my home state in front of 17,000 is hard to beat. I love the coaching staff, the culture, and their tradition of winning. I feel like it is a perfect fit for me, and it checks off all the boxes for me when choosing a school."
According to PrepHoops, the 6-foot-3 CG is the No. 4 prospect in the 2025 in-state recruiting class and is the Wisconsin basketball program's first homegrown high school talent to commit since 2020.
What Zach Kinziger Brings to the Wisconsin Basketball Program
It's always a bonus when Wisconsin basketball can lock up a player's recruitment early in the process, and the recent addition of Zach Kinziger is just a little sweeter when you consider the fit stylistically connected with his in-state ties.
