Boston College DB Jason Maitre Transferring to Wisconsin
Luke Fickell and his coaching staff added a versatile and experienced defensive back in the transfer portal.
Madison, Wis. — Momentum is a real thing, and the commitments just keep rolling in for Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers.
On Friday afternoon, the Badgers added Boston College defensive back Jason Maitre, through the transfer portal.
The 5-foot-10, 188-pound DB checks two significant boxes for the Wisconsin Badgers. He has a ton of experience, and he’s versatile.
According to Pro Football Focus, the Boston College transfer logged 2,155 career snaps across five seasons. Of those, 179 came in the box, 700 at free safety, 824 from the slot, and 438 came as a boundary corner.
This past season, Maitre registered 42 tackles, seven stops, six pass deflections, four pressures, one sack, and one interception while splitting time between free safety and the slot. He also allowed a 55.2 REC% — giving up 16 catches on 29 targets, per PFF.
The Massachusetts native comes to UW with 41 games of experience under his belt and one year of eligibility remaining.
Maitre announced his intention to transfer to the University of Wisconsin via Twitter.
