The Wisconsin football team spent most of Saturday afternoon making life considerably harder on itself than it needed to be.

Then, somehow, the Badgers found a way.

Wisconsin erased a 17-point deficit, its largest comeback since 2006, to stun No. 13 Penn State 24-20 at Beaver Stadium and give Luke Fickell the kind of road win his program has spent four years searching for.

The defense did most of the heavy lifting in Week 4. The offense spent three quarters wasting opportunities, turning the ball over and putting that defense in difficult situations. But when Wisconsin absolutely had to have points on the board, Colton Joseph and Co. finally delivered.

There is plenty to criticize about how Wisconsin got there. There should also be something said for getting there at all.

With that as the backdrop, let’s hand out some grades.
