The Wisconsin football team took a little while to get there against Eastern Michigan on Saturday. But once they did, the Badgers delivered the kind of performance you’d expect against an overmatched opponent.
Wisconsin shook off an ugly opening quarter and rolled to a 54-10 win over the Eagles at Camp Randall Stadium, improving to 2-1 before Big Ten play begins. There were still things worth picking apart, particularly with another slow start and a running game that never completely got going.
But unlike last week’s win over Western Illinois, the Badgers eventually made the talent gap between these two teams impossible to miss. That part matters. Eastern Michigan is still an opponent Wisconsin should beat comfortably, so I’m grading with that expectation in mind. But when they finally took control, they did exactly what a Big Ten team should do.
With that as the backdrop, let’s hand out some grades.
