Wisconsin Football News: Badgers Land Stud WR, C.J. Goetz Returning, More
A lot happened in the Wisconsin football program the past few days; here's a recap of the important headlines to get you back up to speed.
It's been a busy couple of days for the Wisconsin football program, ladies and gents, but fear not because BadgerNotes can help get you back up to speed with a roundup of some important news you may have missed.
Side note: Luke Fickell and Phil Longo have been madmen on the recruiting trail as of late. So we, as fans, should consider starting a go fund me to help fuel the copious amounts of caffeine they must be consuming.
Wisconsin Lands Top WR Prospect in School History
Somebody pinch me; this shit cannot be real life. On top of Wisconsin seemingly becoming a destination for QBs overnight, Luke Fickell and Phil Longo just pulled the highest-rated wide receiver prospect in program history as icing on the cake.
This past week, USC Trojan WR CJ Williams announced his intentions to transfer to the University of Wisconsin on social media.
Per the 247Sports Composite, Williams was the No. 73 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, the No. 10 WR in the country, and the No. 6 player in California.
Williams, a former four-star prospect at Mater Dei High School in California, played in the All-American Bowl his senior season.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound WR is a high-upside possession receiver that appeared in 10 games as a true freshman this past season, finishing with four catches for 34 yards.
I expect him to quickly rise on the depth chart and become a top-three option for Phil Longo's passing attack on day one.
Williams' addition to the Wisconsin football program is a MASSIVE pull by the new coaching staff, and he'll join the Badgers with three years of eligibility (*wipes tear).
