Wisconsin football lands Arizona LB Nathan Jones in 2027 class
Wisconsin added another defensive piece to its 2027 recruiting class with LB Nathan Jones committing after his official visit.
The Wisconsin football program's biggest official visit weekend of the summer continues to pay dividends on the recruiting trail.
Following his official visit to Madison, composite three-star linebacker Nathan Jones out of Goodyear (AZ.) announced his verbal commitment to head coach Luke Fickell and the Badgers, giving Wisconsin another talented piece to develop in the front seven in its 2027 recruiting class.
“Committed. #AGTG #OnWisconsin,” Jones wrote.
And unlike some prospects whose evaluations begin with projection, Jones arrives with a résumé built on production.
Over the past two seasons, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker has been one of the more disruptive defensive players in Arizona. As a junior at Desert Edge High School, Jones recorded 90 total tackles (65 solo), 25 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and an interception.
That’s not accidental production. Those numbers belong to a player who spends a lot of time in the backfield.
And because Jones apparently wasn’t busy enough on defense, he also contributed offensively with 494 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 49 carries, further illustrating the athleticism that makes him intriguing.
