Love the move. New voice plus that they stole him from a rival is,even better

The fresh perspective matters, no doubt. The bigger thing is whether that new voice translates into better in-season development and production on the field. Where he came from is secondary to what the run game looks like moving forward. That said, you love seeing a Minnesota staffer jump ship.

What are the rules for this? Did Jayden Everett & Devon Spalding both have expiring contracts? Or can any other school just say "wanna come over & work here instead?"

College assistant coaches are typically on short-term contracts, often one or two years, and those deals usually include buyout clauses. If another school wants to hire a coach, it can do so as long as it’s willing to negotiate or cover any buyout, or if the coach’s contract is expiring.

Coaches can leave for other jobs, promotions, or lateral moves for more money, and schools can also make changes if they feel a different fit is needed. It’s much closer to a normal employment situation.
