Wisconsin Football Betting Lines for Tilt Against No. 4 Alabama
The Wisconsin Badgers enter their Week 3 matchup as major underdogs.
The stage is set for a pivotal non-conference clash as No. 4 Alabama (2-0) heads to Madison to take on the Wisconsin Badgers (2-0) in Week 3.
The Vegas line, courtesy of FanDuel, has head coach Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide favored by 15.5 points, a significant jump from the preseason spread of -8.5 in favor of Alabama.
For Wisconsin head football coach Luke Fickell, it’s the kind of test that’s been looming since day one on the job.
“It’s the top team in college football in the last 20 years,” Fickell told reporters. “You guys knew it. Yeah, it was daunting. It’s been hanging over the top of our heads from the time we walked in the door here.
“But it’s also to say, ‘Hey, you’ve got to find a way to continue to measure yourself.’ It doesn’t mean that you don’t measure yourself in the first couple of weeks. You’re challenged incredibly. But you’ll be challenged in a completely different way. And we’ll find out where we are. We know darn well what’s walking in here.”
The Badgers have struggled to put away their first two opponents, needing strong fourth-quarter efforts to defeat Western Michigan 28-14 and South Dakota 27-13.
Alabama, meanwhile, faced its own challenges last week, pulling away late for a 42-16 win over South Florida, a game that was much closer than the final score indicated.
This will be the third meeting between the two programs. The Crimson Tide won their last matchup 35-17 in 2015, while Wisconsin claimed a 15-0 victory back in 1928 under Glenn Thistlethwaite. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT, with FOX providing live coverage from Camp Randall Stadium.
