Wisconsin Coaches Surprise Walk-on, Place Him on Scholarship
The Badgers staff awarded a scholarship to a walk-on during team meetings.
During a team meeting, the University of Wisconsin football coaching staff delivered a heartwarming surprise to walk-on wide receiver Haakon Anderson by awarding him a scholarship for his final season.
Badgers position coach Kenny Guiton made the announcement, assisted by fellow wideout Bryson Green. Green presented Anderson, a redshirt senior, with his "papers" recognizing him for his invaluable contributions to the team.
Coach Guiton praised Anderson's commitment and leadership earlier this spring, saying, "I'll give a shout out to my guy Hawk. I mean, he is a guy that does everything, I mean, everything that you ask him to do. And he stepped up, and I think his leadership part of it as well is really good."
Haakon Anderson Earned a Scholarship
Anderson has demonstrated athletic and academic prowess throughout his time with the Wisconsin football team. Achieving Academic All-Big Ten honors three years running from 2021 to 2023, Anderson has showcased his dedication to excellence both on and off the field.
