Wisconsin CB Ricardo Hallman 'Constantly Working' to Improve His Game
The Badgers cornerback didn't luck his way into becoming a star.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that redshirt junior Ricardo Hallman is one of the top cornerbacks in the country entering the 2024 college football season. That said, Hallman's rise to stardom for the Wisconsin Badgers is no fluke—it's the result of putting in countless hours of work behind the scenes to improve his game.
"Ricardo is without question a phenomenal leader," defensive coordinator Mike Tressel told reporters. "One of the things he does is he's constantly working, and even when it's times that there's no coaches around—like on a Saturday, one of your few weekends off—you might walk by the indoor, and he's out there doing drills by himself or running drills with the defensive backs."
The 5-foot-10 cornerback's commitment to personal development has translated into tangible results on the field. Hallman led the nation with seven interceptions as a redshirt sophomore, recording 34 tackles, 12 pass deflections, seven stops, and three tackles for loss, earning him AP Third Team All-American honors.
