Wisconsin men’s basketball is 2-0, and while Friday night’s 73-64 win over Delaware wasn’t necessarily pretty, I thought it offered a better look at what Greg Gard has to work with this season.

The Badgers led by seven at halftime, stretched their advantage to 19 in the second half, and ultimately handled their business at the Kohl Center. Five players scored in double figures, Wisconsin held Delaware to 35.6% shooting, and the Badgers committed just eight turnovers.

“Some good things, but obviously a lot of things we’ll continue to get better at and work at, and help guys continue to get into a better rhythm offensively,” Gard said postgame. “That’s probably been the biggest thing — we practice better offensively than what we have played.”

There were a handful of encouraging developments, particularly in the frontcourt, but also some familiar questions about offensive consistency and how the rotation will eventually settle.

Here are three thoughts from Wisconsin’s win over Delaware.
