We’ve spent most of the offseason talking about the big questions surrounding the Wisconsin men’s basketball program.

Can Owen Foxwell handle the transition from professional basketball in Australia to playing in the Big Ten? Who replaces the shot creation Wisconsin lost with Nick Boyd and John Blackwell? How much better can Nolan Winter become as a senior?

Those questions still matter. But with preseason practice underway, I’m more interested in some of the decisions underneath them.

Greg Gard has more lineup flexibility than he’s had in a while, at least on paper, and several players who might not lead the Badgers in scoring could have a significant say in how this team ultimately functions.

So for this mailbag, let’s get a little further into the weeds.
