As the college football calendar turns from Week 3 to Week 4, and 2019 turned past 2025, Wisconsin football, and the sport around it, is nearly unrecognizable from the time its home-and-home with the Alabama Crimson Tide was announced. That was clear not only in the three hours the Badgers spent inside Bryant-Denny Stadium, but also for fans at home trying to decide what to do in the three hours that followed the drubbing.
Talkin’ Badgers went live on Saturday evening, reacting to Wisconsin’s non-conference finale and the day that was in college football. Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson turned in a highlight-reel performance, picking apart UW’s secondary. Wisconsin’s offense could not stop moving backwards.
For all that went wrong in Tuscaloosa, Wisconsin Badgers fans can take solace in the fact that at least it was only about as bad as what was expected. So much for silver linings.
