See where Johnny Davis lands in SI’s latest 2022 NBA mock draft
After showcasing his talents at the NBA combine, Badgers sophomore guard Johnny Davis is in the midst of meeting and working out with different teams across the league ahead of the draft that’ll take place later this month.
NBA staff writer Jeremy Woo of Sports Illustrated recently completed a mock draft that had the La Crosse (Wisc.) native being selected No. 6 overall to the Indiana Pacers.
Davis, who was the Big Ten Player of the Year, Lute Olson National Player of the Year, and a consensus first-team All-American averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 31 games for the Badgers last season.
The former La Crosse Central standout can score from all three levels, defend either spot on the wing, and possesses the versatility NBA scouts covet.
Standing at 6-foot-5, 196-pounds, the sophomore guard is currently projected as a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. Should that projection come to fruition, Davis will be the first Badger selected in the NBA Draft lottery since Frank Kaminsky back in 2015.
The 2022 NBA Draft will take place on June 23. You can read the entire Sports Illustrated 2022 mock draft below:
