The offseason is often when some of the most interesting questions about the Wisconsin men’s basketball program come into focus.

Wisconsin has a new athletic director in Shawn Eichorst, raising an obvious question: Is that a good thing or a bad thing for head coach Greg Gard? The Badgers once again attacked the transfer portal aggressively to reshape the roster this offseason, but someone will need to emerge and fill the scoring void. Who might that be? And despite no longer being on staff, Kirk Penney’s fingerprints remain all over the program’s recruiting efforts.
