There are two ways to look at the Wisconsin football team’s first two games, and neither requires pretending the other doesn’t exist.
The Badgers have a ton of new transfers, different combinations across the field, and plenty of players that are still learning how to play together. They also spent a half hanging with No. 4 Notre Dame, have shown more explosiveness offensively, and appear to have a strong special teams unit.
So, yes, there are reasons to believe this team can improve considerably as the season goes along. But there’s also a reasonable question about how much patience Year 4 should require for head coach Luke Fickell.
Q: Are Wisconsin fans being too negative after a 36-9 win with so many new players still learning to play together? IMO, they could easily start to gel with one more tune up game and go on a run.
