Coach Tressel on Hunter Wohler: 'Here's a Dude Who Understands Ball'
Wisconsin's defensive coordinator confirmed that Hunter Wohler knows ball.
At the Wisconsin football team's local media day, Badgers defensive coordinator Mike Tressel couldn't hide his enthusiasm for the leadership emerging within the team, specifically mentioning senior captain Hunter Wohler for his impact both on and off the field.
Wohler, who Was named to the Associated Press first-team All-Big Ten team at safety last season, established himself as one of Wisconsin's core players on defense in 2023.
The Muskego native tallied an impressive 120 total tackles, 37 stops, 10 pressures, six pass deflections, two interceptions, and a sack, playing the 'dollar' position, a role that demands versatility and IQ.
"I am really excited about our leadership right now, very excited about Hunter, Jake Chaney, there names could be stacked beyond that but specifically Hunter," Tressel shared with reporters.
