Badgers RB Braelon Allen Declares for NFL Draft
Braelon Allen is off to the NFL after three seasons in Madison.
The University of Wisconsin football team's star running back, Braelon Allen, is off to the NFL.
The Badgers running back announced Tuesday that he is declaring for the NFL draft following three seasons as the bell-cow — and two second-team All-Big Ten finishes at RBU.
Allen, who finished second in the Big Ten in regular-season rushing yards in 2023, ran for 3,494 yards and 35 touchdowns on 594 carries during his time in Madison. He is expected to be an earlyish to mid-round selection in the upcoming draft, perhaps even one of the top five running backs off the board, given his physical tools and favorable age (19 years old).
Thank you God 🙏🏾

Wisconsin’s Star RB Braelon Allen Headed to the NFL
A native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Braelon Allen was the No. 227 overall recruit in the class of 2021 after reclassifying to enroll in school a year early. He was initially recruited as a safety/linebacker hybrid — but was moved to running back during fall camp in 2021 and never looked back.
Allen started out fourth on the depth chart as a true freshman — but injuries thrust him into a featured role at just 17 years old. He quickly blossomed, rushing for 1,268 yards and 12 touchdowns on an impressive 6.8 yards per carry en route to second-team All-Big Ten honors.
He followed that up with 1,242 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022 while catching 13 passes for 104 yards. Allen again received second-team All-Big Ten honors and was the focal point of the Badgers offense.
In his third and final act, the 6-foot-2, 245-pound running back carried the ball 181 times for 984 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught a career-high 28 passes for 132 yards, totaling 1,116 yards from scrimmage.
Braelon Allen leaves the Wisconsin football program with an accomplished resume — and will finish No. 9 in career rushing yards. He also leaves college football with 17 career games with 100 yards and a rushing touchdown — the most of any active Power 5 running back.
Best of luck to Agent 0 in the NFL.
