Badgers Land Commitment From Syracuse Transfer Leon Lowery Jr.
Wisconsin lands its first piece in the transfer portal.
Following an official recruiting visit to Madison this past weekend, Syracuse linebacker Leon Lowery Jr. called off his other planned trips and committed to Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin football program.
Lowery Jr., the No. 7 ranked outside linebacker available in the portal, announced on social media that he would join the Badgers, choosing the University of Wisconsin over reported offers from Cal, Georgia Tech, Houston, Baylor, and Oregon State.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound pass rusher joins the program with two years of eligibility remaining. Lowery Jr. was able to explore his options before the transfer portal officially opened on December 4 due to his former head coach, Dino Babers, getting fired by the Orange on November 19, opening a 30-day window — and fast-tracking his process.
