Badgers Inside Linebacker Tackett Curtis a 'Football Junky'
Mike Tressel thinks Tackett Curtis is a 'Wisconsin type of dude.'
Coming out of high school, Tackett Curtis was a high-priority target for the former Wisconsin football coaching staff, who went all out to try and bring him to Madison. Despite their efforts, Curtis initially chose USC, but after just one season with Lincoln Riley and the Trojans, he was back on the market.
This time, the Badgers didn't miss their chance, and Curtis transferred to Wisconsin, now led by Luke Fickell, despite interests from elite programs like Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Florida State.
At local media day, defensive coordinator Mike Tressel didn't mince words when discussing the USC transfer, asserting that Curtis was always a natural fit for the Wisconsin football program because of how the linebacker is wired.
“Tackett Curtis is a guy who, quite honestly, if you ask me, even though I wasn't here at the beginning, he probably belonged here from the get-go because he's a Wisconsin type of dude," Tressel told reporters.
"He's a bang your head against the wall football junky that also loves it and wants to study it.”
